Description
In this task, students first take a crash course on the structure and packaging of DNA and how the PCR method works. Students then take a crash course on electrophoresis, in which they learn about the physical background and analyze what accelerates and slows down DNA fragments. Finally, students create a large diagram of DNA analysis using a combination of PCR and electrophoresis.
The students then carry out a digital electrophoresis. The aim is to test three patients for Covid-19. As a basis, they work through a crash course on DNA and the PCR method, as well as on electrophoresis and the physical background. Finally, the students develop an overall diagram of the analysis of DNA from the combination of PCR and electrophoresis.
