How the research box works

Research box

Why?

Therefore!

Sources: STM

  • How is the concept structured?
Each research box has the same structure: The theme of the research box arises from current projects and problems that the scientists are working on Familiarization with the topic with interactive tasks that are decorated with exciting tools and creative applications In the final task , the team must draft a solution sketch for the problem in question We try to develop follow-up projects for each research box so that the students, after working on the research box, can implement their ideas and possible solutions into a real contribution to nature and environmental protection. The goal : Extensive project work with as little effort as possible for the teachers
  • How long can I borrow the research box?
If you choose the "original research box" , you will receive experiments for two weeks , which we will send to you and also pick up again. You and your colleagues (if you share your access data ;-) ) will have access to the teaching materials for a selectable period of 3 or 6 months . With the "Digital Research Box" you do not have to do any experiments. You also get access to the teaching materials for a choice of 3 or 6 months .
  • How do you approach development?
Develop realistic topics from current project work. Develop interfaces to curricula. Develop task structure, storyline and idea for follow-up project. Develop tasks, experiments and follow-up projects, produce films. Internal test Incorporate feedback First test phase at the local "Schule am Meer" or the "WHG" Incorporate feedback Second test phase at a foreign school under "real" conditions Incorporate feedback LAUNCH
  • How are the prices determined?
Here is an average price breakdown of the original research box: 30% -> Material costs (calculated per rental -> actually x25) 7% -> storage and maintenance costs 21% -> Shipping costs 11% -> Marketing costs 31% -> Science Transfer Mission
  • How else do you offer the contents of the research box?
We offer the "original research box" , two weeks of experiments and 3 or 6 months access to the teaching materials. As a counterpart, we offer the "digital research box" . With this variant, you forego the physical experiments. You receive access to the teaching materials for 3 or 6 months. It will also be possible to purchase individual tasks , giving you even more flexibility. The so-called "teaching packages" are still in the planning stage. We will collect tasks from the research boxes and develop teaching units on a wide range of topics.
  • How do we ensure content and pedagogical accuracy?
We guarantee the correctness of the content through close cooperation with scientists during development. The pedagogical influences arise from the close cooperation with student teachers and teachers who are involved in the development as well as before and during the testing phases. Since we work in a particularly student-oriented manner, the opinion of the students is particularly important to us during the test phases. We try to listen to every student and incorporate their ideas into the research boxes.
  • So what exactly is your task?
Jannis I take care of everything that happens around the company, which means marketing, finances, event planning and implementation and being the first point of contact between us and the schools or the respective teachers. Malik I take care of what will later make up our company, the research boxes. I am therefore responsible for concept development and implementation, the designs and photo and video editing, as well as the elaboration and development of experiments and tools. I therefore act as an interface between science and school.
